Boo Hoo… to a great Concept inside a great Casino Resort…

It’s not the end of Vegas Nocturne, the most-talked about show at Rose.Rabbit.Lie, that was held at the Cosmopolitan Casino and Resort. Supposedly, from rumors, they’ll be relocating.. hmm.. I wonder where. Otherwise they began a trend I’m sure others will try to mimic in the dynamic Las Vegas market. The venue will continue to open its doors for dinner reservations with live entertainment at 5:30pm Wednesday through  Saturday, yet the most talked about show has come to a close.

Visit roserabbitlie.com or call 877-667-0585 to make dinner reservations.

Vesper Bar…

This place makes a nice stop for after work cocktails. It’s a beautiful bar to be at anyway, right at the west lobby near the valet and in sight of the huge columns displaying customized digital experiences developed by the Rockwell Group.

The Vesper Bar, located inside the Cosmopolitan Resort, is a modest and extravagant oasis away from the boisterous casino floor. Its shimmery ambiance attracts even the most discerning onlookers and entices them into a journey of crafted signature cocktails from their exceptional mixologist who possess fine skills and passion in concocting classic recipes that’ll take you back to an era of style and grace.

The drink menu begins with “The Vesper,” a cocktail named after one of James Bond’s short lived paramour. Other than offering the perfect drinks from an extensive menu of long-forgotten recipes or even creating a custom cocktail, the space is inspired by 1950’s past entwined with an upscale contemporary environment suited for sophisticated and glamorous patrons.

Performance Art…

I think everyone needs to go big on their 30th birthday. It’s not just a time to reminiscent on your milestone of accomplishments, but its 30 years of living and that’s worth celebrating.

It was my friend Nicole’s 30th, so I organized a group of about 25 girls to Rose.Rabbit.Lie. It was my 2nd round so far and it won’t be my last. This time I was able to get some snapshots and video of our experience from our front row seats. I couldn’t catch everything because my phone was acting up… I think i-phones are meant to break after a period of time so you could spend 500 on a new one.

I absolutely love being entertained. I’ve seen many shows in Vegas from small scale to large productions, and Rose.Rabbit.Lie is one of my favorite’s. Here is a video of one of the first performances by Twin Tap Dancers (didn’t catch their names) and artist Butterscotch beatboxing…

It’s a trippy show to watch even when your sober. And man, if I was on drugs it would be even trippier, just sayin’. It’s filled with various performances, something you’d have to experience yourself. Or you can live vicariously through my photos in the meantime…

Various Acts…

We did the late 12am showing because the room turns into a nightclub afterwards. When the show was over and as the night progressed, we still saw acts that showed up unexpectedly. Drummers stepped into the middle of the dance floor and drummed to the beats of the DJ. The most memorable was the last performance at 2am… A group of girls dressed as gilded sea creatures handed out headphones to us with a voice that directed us to motion with them. It was as if the dancers were telepathically speaking to us. The night was an experience we won’t forget…

Dealer that Inhales Second Hand Smoke…

Being a party pit blackjack dealer is kind of like being a puppy in a pet store.

Men circle the pit to choose which girl he’d like to play with. It’s sometimes creepy and you can’t walk away, sometimes I just go along with it and smile and other times I just don’t care.

I’ve been very fortunate to work with an agency that has been so flexible with my wants and needs so I’ve stuck around with them for a while now. It’s fun and easy and I think I became a professional sarcastic bs’er from all that small talk at that job too. Plus I can count to 21 really fast, a useless skill I’ve acquired throughout the years haha. I’ve also been lucky to have worked at the best properties on the strip. My job can get really fun at times and you conversate with some amazing people from all around the world and sometimes it so fun for them even, that they don’t care if they lose the money because of the experience and hospitality.

Hard Rock Casino was at its peak before Cosmo got built, and it was sooo much fun! Me and my coworkers got along and went out almost every week. Hard Rock was and always will have a place in my heart mainly because of my coworkers, they seemed like family.

While most casinos were focused on being gaudy and pretentious, it was Hard Rock that stood out. It was something with the old vibe, rowdy culture, loud rock music and oddly enough – even the musty smell.

Not to mention we had the sexiest party pit dealers called the Helles Belles. The concept was still fairly new, so it was exciting. We were provided all black attire with tanks we were able to shred or cut up according to our preference. Our pleaded skirts were more like underwear that showed the bottom half of our booties but hey it made us motivated to work on our squats. There were no rules with our old management team so our go-go pole dancers wore what they want and danced and worked that pole the way they want.

My custom Helles Belles dealer outfit…

…Then Cosmopolitan Casino got built, and that pulled a lot of casinos down the drain, reputation wise… And because almost every casino seemed to be renovating, Hard Rock renovated too and new management took over. They took away our big stage in the middle of the pit, expanded the casino with a new tower and even closed Wasted Space, one of the hottest rock venues.

The old vibe withered away shortly after. Sometimes it’s best to leave things small and the way they were.

So on to the next bigger and better property which is Cosmo. There’s a party pit at the exciting Marquee nightclub and day club and The Bond pit, which is tucked inside the east corner of the casino. The Bond is an interesting concept; its inspiration came from James Bond. We’re in a sophisticated look consisting of black faux silk rompers, minimal jewelry and our hair up in a clean, classic bun to display sophistication and a level of respect. Many of us feel we resemble women from the 50’s era.

A DJ plays towards the late hours with an eclectic mix of genres from hip-hop, swing, to chill out, dance, you name it. It definitely has a swanky lounge-type vibe, besides the slot machines surrounding the pit. On busy nights, you can catch various entertainment acts like swing and tap dancers filling up the bar space next to the DJ Booth. Around the bar area near the blackjack pit, you can catch Bond go-go dancers in a lighted stage area greeting guests entering Cosmo. And a couple more dancers dressed in leotards are lifted up with a chain to dance in their elevated booth about 10′ high. It’s a pleasant sight to see coming from the street. And the music is what makes the place lively. There’s no other casino that will have as many people smiling as Cosmo does. Loud and rowdy environments are what I’m accustomed to and if I don’t have it in my life, I wouldn’t know what to do.

Our go-go dancers placed in the center of both blackjack pits are more of ballet-type dancers armed with their own synchronized modern dance moves. Our pit is unlike any other because of our dancers, they carry a theatrical sense. Each dancer even has her own ballet bar on stage. The most eye-catching is our beautiful swinger, yes swinger, adorned with a flowery pink or flowy dress. Her job is to swing on 30 minute increments. You can spot her on a high LED swing parallel to the floor to ceiling window. Its funny seeing passerby’s stopping to gawk, snap photos and eventually making their way in, a smart move from the marketing design team.

The notion of nightclub meets casino gaming is a brilliant concept and I hope it sticks around for a long time. Moreover, The Cosmopolitan has something for everyone, and since it also mimics New York, which is a city I love by the way, I seem to be attracted to this place. It’s hip, trendy, vibrant, and clean. I even catch myself here on my days off. Not to mention it promotes art ranging from fun installations to art pieces on the walls, the décor is top notch mostly consisting of hand-blown glass and each level of the garage displays fun graffiti art from different artists. There’s so much more to say about this property. Just check out their site and if you have any questions ask away!

P.S. Cigarettes are disgusting. Period. Quit!

Rose. Rabbit. Lie…

Venues and its design and events seem to be getting more and more extreme, and with the fierce competition in this industry it’s no wonder why management have to up the ante. I’m grateful to be living in a city where nightlife equals sensory overload.

A recent venue I hit up was ‘Rose. Rabbit. Lie’ inside Cosmo, commonly referred to as a “Grand Social Experiment.” It’s a place meant for those with a sense of discovery, tucked inside the halls on the second floor. You probably wouldn’t even know it’s there unless someone mentioned it but that’s the beauty because once found it’s so worth your while. It’s one of my favorite venues thus far, almost like Bucca di Beppo meets the former Act nightclub or the well-famed The Box in New York.

Like always me and my friends were able to find our way in, invited or not. Or maybe it’s the easy accessibility in Vegas for us local girls. This city spoils us.

It was during mid January for the private grand opening when we arrived, thanks to my girlfriend Mariya who always seems to work on connections. And I thank myself for talking our way into a seated VIP section in the ‘ballroom’ near the champagne tower and in great view of the performances. The first act blew me away. She went by the name Butterscotch, as seen on America’s Got Talent, she set the stage with her beatbox and singing, she was truly gifted and hyped the crowd. The second act was from a lady contortionist by the name of Pandora who shot a bow and arrow to a bullseye on stage. From there the acts kept getting more and more entertaining, whimsical and quirky! I’d recommend the later showing as the main room transitions to a nightclub. Make sure you grab a bite to eat or roam around beforehand, each room has an unforgettable dining experience. As the night unfolds you’re greeted with unconventional and scattered live performances that make you feel as if you’ve been transported to a different era.

And to add to the clever ambiance they play music untypical of the mega nightclubs in Vegas, a relief to most who are already consumed with the inescapable mash-ups and EDM.

Why the name? Rose. Rabbit. Lie? It has nothing to do with each other but it’s catchy and as their site suggests, “it delivers an unexpected mash-up of experiences that typically live detached from one another… adheres to no standard model, follows no written rules. Come when you want. Leave when you wish. Let the night take the lead.” …So enjoy!
