Rose. Rabbit. Lie…

Venues and its design and events seem to be getting more and more extreme, and with the fierce competition in this industry it’s no wonder why management have to up the ante. I’m grateful to be living in a city where nightlife equals sensory overload.

A recent venue I hit up was ‘Rose. Rabbit. Lie’ inside Cosmo, commonly referred to as a “Grand Social Experiment.” It’s a place meant for those with a sense of discovery, tucked inside the halls on the second floor. You probably wouldn’t even know it’s there unless someone mentioned it but that’s the beauty because once found it’s so worth your while. It’s one of my favorite venues thus far, almost like Bucca di Beppo meets the former Act nightclub or the well-famed The Box in New York.

Like always me and my friends were able to find our way in, invited or not. Or maybe it’s the easy accessibility in Vegas for us local girls. This city spoils us.

It was during mid January for the private grand opening when we arrived, thanks to my girlfriend Mariya who always seems to work on connections. And I thank myself for talking our way into a seated VIP section in the ‘ballroom’ near the champagne tower and in great view of the performances. The first act blew me away. She went by the name Butterscotch, as seen on America’s Got Talent, she set the stage with her beatbox and singing, she was truly gifted and hyped the crowd. The second act was from a lady contortionist by the name of Pandora who shot a bow and arrow to a bullseye on stage. From there the acts kept getting more and more entertaining, whimsical and quirky! I’d recommend the later showing as the main room transitions to a nightclub. Make sure you grab a bite to eat or roam around beforehand, each room has an unforgettable dining experience. As the night unfolds you’re greeted with unconventional and scattered live performances that make you feel as if you’ve been transported to a different era.

And to add to the clever ambiance they play music untypical of the mega nightclubs in Vegas, a relief to most who are already consumed with the inescapable mash-ups and EDM.

Why the name? Rose. Rabbit. Lie? It has nothing to do with each other but it’s catchy and as their site suggests, “it delivers an unexpected mash-up of experiences that typically live detached from one another… adheres to no standard model, follows no written rules. Come when you want. Leave when you wish. Let the night take the lead.” …So enjoy!
